Organic Pregnancy (Labor Prep) Tea

For Mamas in All Trimesters & Postpartum

Our Pregnancy Tea is a thoughtful blend of 5 plants that nourish pregnant, laboring, AND postpartum mamas. Adding this to your daily routine will make a noticeable difference in your health throughout your pregnancy and will give you a “leg up” on the big day! Mamas enjoy this delicious tea hot or iced, alone or with sweetener, with or without tea biscuits!

Available sizes:

  • 5 servings- great gift box addition!
  • 30 servings

Serving size: 2-3 tsp per cup

Ingredients:

  • Red Raspberry leaf is an herb that is commonly chosen for pregnancy tea. It’s loaded with vitamins and minerals to support a healthy pregnancy and a smooth, efficient labor.
  • Stinging Nettle leaf is a nutrient-rich pregnancy tonic. It’s a great source of all vitamins, including folic acid (vitamin B9) and vitamin C. Folic acid (or folate) is super important in pregnancy, especially during the first trimester when the central nervous system is being developed. Vitamin C is crucial for collagen production, which supports the growing bodies of both mom and baby.  Nettle also has an impressive mineral profile, including calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and zinc.
  • Oatstraw is the stem of the common oat plant, harvested before the plant produces oats. It is a rich source of calcium and magnesium. It has been known to “take the edge off” and promote relaxation. **An added bonus of Oatstraw is that it encourages lactation and may increase milk supply postpartum, in contrast to members of the mint family. Many pregnancy teas include mint for flavor, but these may need to be discontinued postpartum for breastfeeding mamas.**
  • Rosehips (fruit) are a rich source of vitamin C and they are delicious! Often described as tangy, floral, and a little sweet, they certainly add to the flavor profile of our Labor Prep Tea! Rosehips also act as a mild laxative, which can be quite nice if you suffer from pregnancy constipation.
  • Lemon Balm leaf is a gentle, but powerful herb. It can soothe our bodies and help us relax. Lemon Balm also aids in heathy digestion, which enables our bodies to receive more nutrients from our food more efficiently. So although it is part of the mint family, some herbalists stand by Lemon Balm’s ability to support milk production, unlike its family members.

Directions:

Store dry herbs in a cool, dark place. Pour 1 cup boiling water over 2-3 tsp dry herbs. Let stand for 10 mins. Strain. Use an extra fine mesh tea strainer for best results. Sweeten with Echinacea honey for gentle immune support.
