Mama Natural Week-by-Week Guide to Pregnancy & Childbirth

Do yourself a favor and throw “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” right out the window.
The Mama Natural Week-by-Week Guide to Pregnancy & Childbirth is a phenomenal resource for ALL women.
This book includes a weekly update on mom and baby, relevant pregnancy/birth information to help you make informed choices along the way, as well as healthy recipes, birth affirmations, and more!
Though the chapters are dense with information, you’ll only have to commit about a half hour per week to keep up.
I absolutely loved spending time in this book during both of my pregnancies.
Also check out Mama Natural’s Birth Affirmation cards! I used several of these to decorate my birth wall for encouragement during my home birth.

Postpartum/ Fourth Trimester

The Fourth Trimester

The Fourth Trimester is an absolute MUST-READ for ALL mamas.
During pregnancy, most women focus on preparing for childbirth (which is completely understandable, especially given the fear mongering in today’s society). However, it is equally as important to prepare for the postpartum period… Maybe even more important.
This book is best read while you’re still pregnant so you know what to expect, how to set yourself up for success, and how to recognize and navigate common postpartum problems as they arise. However, if you’re like me and you overlooked postpartum completely, you will still find this book to be refreshingly enlightening when it feels like it’s “too late.”

The author is a Sexological Bodyworker, Somatic Experiencing trauma resolution practitioner, birth doula, yoga instructor, and single mom. After an extremely traumatic birth experience, she had to do her own learning and healing. This is the book she wished she had as a resource during this time.
