This Labor Comb is a must-have tool for women that are looking for natural pain management during the transformative experience of childbirth. It also serves as a meaningful birth keepsake! Each comb is engraved with a beautiful affirmation to remind you to surrender to the process and appreciate the strength of the female body during birth.

Size Options:
- Small 2”x4”
- Large 1.5”x5”
Both are fine-tooth combs. However, the teeth on the small comb are sharper when compared to the larger comb. Everyone has different size, shape, and feel preferences! If you’re unsure, try one of each- then you’ll have one for each hand.

Theory Behind Labor Combs:
- Distraction– Squeezing a labor comb into your palm will give you something else to focus on during contractions, helping you manage the sensations of childbirth.
- Gate Control Theory– We have this awesome built-in “gate” in our nervous system that can restrict feelings of pain if another sensation is present. This is why we instinctually massage a recently injured area. You are actually helping yourself by sending counter-signals to your brain, reducing the pain of the injury. Same idea with a labor comb when you push the teeth of the comb into your hand during a contraction.
- Acupressure– There are several acupressure points in your hands so applying targeted pressure may help manage moments of uncomfortable sensation.
